Gold
The most basic of all commodities. Gold is the lifeblood of your kingdom; it is what makes everything run. Military orders cost gold; upgrading and construction cost gold; just about everything that you do has some price tag on it. You can speed up local inhabitations productions by investing gold in whatever that inhabitation is currently doing.
All gold is in terms of thousands of gold pieces. Thus, the cost of 3K gold is 3,000 gold pieces. How much you have is on your kingdoms web page, and reported each turn, along with costs and deductions.
Acquiring gold is through a variety of means.
Taxes on Provinces and Principalities or other areas that have Nobles in charge of them.
Each inhabitation provides a variable amount of gold to the Ruler they follow.
Mines may be discovered that produce gold ore that can be minted into gold. ( a mine will also cause the instant creation of a village wherever the mine may be. Most mines are in hills or mountains.)
Accumulated Trade goods can be converted to gold at your order.
You can demand gold as tribute from neighbors or smaller kingdoms to prevent an attack.
Your NPC's can be sent out to adventure and bring you gold.
Many other ways exist to swell your bank accounts.
